Solution Gas Drive in Heavy Oil Reservoirs
Hussain Sheikha
Solution gas drive is one of the mechanisms by which oil can be produced from the reservoirs. Solution gas drive in heavy oil is well known for its anomalous behavior that shows better performance taking into account the high viscosity of heavy oil. Heavy oil reservoirs show better performance in terms of low gas oil ratio and pressure decline rate. The objective of this book is to provide answers to two questions: - What is the role of micro-bubbles if this type of bubble exists in solution gas drive in heavy oil? - How do changes in pressure gradient and pressure decline rate affect gas mobility and oil recovery? The answer of these questions is achieved through a simple analysis of the measured data as well as their numerical modeling.
