Personal experiences of a University teacher-scientist bring to light the travails, triumphs, and occasional failures in research. The author's research studies on ionosphere D-region, dust-ion chemical models for meso-strato-tropo (MST) region, solar UV-B radiation, atmosphere aerosols, electric conductivity, MST radar echoes etc. enabled him to participate in International symposium and conferences in GDR (1984), Czechoslovakia (1989), USA, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Austria, Taiwan and France. Starting from the years of World War II, the narration covering a period of over seven decades identifies new technologies and trends available to atmosphere physics studies. The depiction also portrays the milieu existing at a time of building up several space sciences related program in India. Traditional beliefs, practices and customs of village life are depicted as the narrator shifts from villages to towns and cities seeking education and employment. This book, biographical sketch of a researcher as also the saga of progress of one hailing from a remote village would impress the readers and inspire youngsters. Teachers would appreciate these memoirs.
