The media are responsible for disseminating information about what is happening minute by minute in the world. This information must be objective, thoroughly investigated and contrasted before being published. That is why they require their professionals to comply with the rules established in the code of ethics of each institution, in addition to those stipulated at the national and international level. There are different codes of ethics that guarantee the free exercise of journalism, as well as access to the information necessary to cover an event. Similarly, journalists' associations are responsible for ensuring that the rights of communicators are fulfilled in accordance with what has been established. The professional exercise of journalism is different from what is studied in the classroom, at the time of handling and disseminating the information obtained. These differences are the ones that we will address throughout the research with the help of journalists who have been working in the media for more than ten years; through their participation in a focus group and their experience in the professional exercise.
