Supermanic is a revealing peek behind the cracked curtains of a life lived with Bipolar I disorder. Struck by unpredictable delusions of grandeur, Rob-a nineteen-year-old aspiring musician-finds that his uncontrollable Christ complex lands him in the psych ward several times during his second coming-of-age. Believing he's the one true catalyst for a biblical end of the world, Rob's disorder draws a widening chasm between himself and everyone he loves. Over the course of a decade, he suffers four major manic and depressive episodes that land him in lockdowns and end in fistfuls of prescriptions for drug therapies. At times hysterical, disturbing, and sad, Rob's true story is one of resilience, told through his own manic-depressive eyes, as well as the actual transcripts of doctors, nurses, and police officers he encounters along the way. However, the true heroes of this story are the family members, friends, and medical professionals who sacrifice so much to help Rob manage his inner demons and find the stability to share the often untold stories of mental illness.
