Breaking Generational Curses K D N

Unaware of how that generational DON'T QUESTION your Elders, the decisions and wrong teachings they have had over our lives helped shape us while also breaking us. I made it my business to start questioning my Elders! We are a generation with access to a plethora of knowledge, self care, self awareness and self improvement information. It is now time we question our Elders for healing purposes to get an understanding of how generational curses developed in our families, identify them, talk about them, call our Elders out, evolve as people and ensure our Children develop the first go round as whole functioning people who are allowed to ask questions and practice critical thinking while developing. In this short story, which may become a short story series, I address the Elder who told me the molestation that happened to me as a child was my fault with plans of telling her I now know better and I forgive her for having me think it was my fault. This lead to more in depth conversations for which I learned my Mother went through the same thing and told the same thing at the hands of my Grandmother just as my Grandmother went through and was told the same thing at the hands of her Grandmother, who also went through the same thing and told the same thing at the hands of her Grandmother! I would have never known had I never QUESTIONED my ELDERS! This in itself was an eye awaking moment for me that I began to apply to many teachings I was given and taught not to question as a child but as a learning adult I have shifted and shielded my children from. Though I got answers and a better understanding of why, I also realized my Elders train of thought and understanding won't change as even after all the talking she says "make sure she doesn't do things that are appealing to men", in reference to my daughter. It was in this moment I had to say, in my head of course, FUCK GRANDMA and her Ideologies! I have abandoned most of my teachings and gone on to create my own traditions and family teachings.
