For most, life is a series of seasons. The cold dark bitterness of a hard winter is in fair exchange for the inevitable warmth of the spring when all things seem possible and some good and cheer can be realized. Perhaps. But for some, they are born into an endless winter. The warmth and comfort of spring eludes them, seemingly for a lifetime. Promise can be masked by a life void of care and kindness. So it was with Rob Gregory and Pamela Freeman, whose lives converge one summer night in a tavern in the little town of Minster, Ohio. It was a meeting of chosen opportunity, leading to decades of more random, fleeting moments of possibility alternating between promise and regret.
