Contributor Bio:  Arnold, Jeffrey M Patrick McLeod an avid gardener and outdoorsman living in Ann Arbor, MI., has a Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources biology. Each year, Patrick, his three daughters, and wife Erica, plant and maintain a large family garden, which yields fresh fruit and vegetables spring, summer and well into fall. In addition to enjoying fresh foods, the family dries, cans and pickles foods to eat and share with others throughout the year. Often Patrick uses the garden as a teaching tool for his young daughters, ages 2, 4, and 6. Once in a while, however, his girls teach him. Or, as in the case of this first published children's story, "An Elephant in our Garden," they inspire him. Patrick intends to use his understanding of the outdoors, expertise as a gardener, and experiences as a father of three to write many more books that delve into the natural world using children's perspective and curiosity.
