The story is initially about a girl who finds herself in an alien environment, in the dark and alone. It soon becomes apparent that she has suffered loss of memory, leaving her disorientated and scared. In her search for answers to the questions of where and why she is there, and more importantly, who she is, she finds herself wanted for murder. The eventual help and salvation through her problems comes in the unlikely form of a rough sleeper by the name of Steve, who proves not to be quite what he first appears. The story follows them through their journey to unravel the tangled mess of both their lives.
