Richard Porson
Porson's Adversaria was edited by two of his Cambridge colleagues and published posthumously in 1812. It includes notes and textual emendations to several Greek writers. Porson discovered Greek metrical rule known as 'Porson's law', and his handwriting inspired a Greek typeface that was widely used for over a century.
