Spiritual / Religious "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." The above is called the Serenity Prayer. It is the key to living a peaceful life of self-acceptance. I could not accept the person whom God wanted me to be. I felt different from other people and did not fit in. I tried psychotherapy and was frustrated because I could not change. However, on June 27, 2004, I read an article in the New York Times Magazine section that five percent of the men in this country have my problem. Basically, the article consisted of five pages advertising medication for this physical/mental condition. I was happy to read that I was not alone. I decided to view my problem as a spiritual condition. "Here is a problem that has never been addressed in the Christian community, so far as I know. People who lack sexual desire may have a special gift from God that enables them to serve the Lord without the entanglements of this world. What we don't realize is that there are many such people who don't see this as a gift and are struggling trying to figure out how they fit into God's plan. This book provides help in that direction."
