Mark Twain has been famously attributed to saying "The difference between fiction and non-fiction is that fiction has to be believable." It's easy to think that fiction is an exaggerated view of reality; but it's usually just the opposite: fiction is a way of trying to rationalize and make sense of the insane nature of reality. This book of poetry, journal entries, and free-writes represents an eighteen year journey of trying to put into logical words the completely irrational nature of life, and human behavior. It's pathetic, brutal, arrogant, and abusive. It's the difference between how we act, and how others view our actions. What we want to believe versus what we actually believe. Who we want to be versus who we actually are.
