KAREN VAUGHAN booms into life in 1991 as a mid-life married woman jet setting to a foreign country to meet up with acquaintances on a small sailboat. Ten years later in Florida her energetic focus is tormented and frustrated as she attempts to identify and clear herself of conspirators involved in serious internet crime. Banging her head against a wall to get government attention before laws kept pace with modern cybercrimes, her terrifying perils multiply to include treating a congenital disability and cancer, and being trapped in a tornado and floundering in powerlessness at sea.
Only her passion for sailing and her friends? prodding her to appear at televised City Hall meetings maintain her vibrant instinct for survival. Karen?s persistence enlisting government help against incompetence and corruption?including the police?rings a bell in any active citizen?s head.
A Book, A Dog, A Dinghy takes readers to exhilarating highs and paralyzing lows before leaving them to reflect on their own challenges and success.
