Principles Of Education Today Science and Technology are omnipotent and omnipresent. From the mid-twentieth century, inventions and discove1ries make life easier, wiser, happier, speedier, stronger, longer and comfortable, in the fast progressing new world that witnesses rapid economic, political, social and cultural developments. Biological Science, with miraculous success stories like tissue culture, test tube baby, D. N. A testing, transplantation of organs, cloning etc, emerges as the fore runner at the advent of twenty-first century and highly influences mankind developing insatiable urge for further scientific exploration that led to wide spread revolution in science education and research. Secondary Education, being the gate way to higher education and to the world of work, is the most important stage for all-round development in the form of nurturing scientific attitude and temper of the students. This can be achieved to great extent through an effective operational curriculum, by addressing the problems and impediments, for quality education. This book attempts to identify the problems, hurdles, short comings and inherent weakness in the secondary school biological science operational curriculum and suggests remedial measures.
