Apocalyptic Literature Volume 1
Saint Mark
Apocalypse is a Greek word meaning "revelation", "an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling."
As a genre, apocalyptic literature details the authors' visions of the end times as revealed by a heavenly messenger or Angel.
This first volume in the new series Apocalyptic Literature focuses on early 'apocryphons' composed in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event in the ancient world - the Roman destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in AD 70. Volume 1 contains the essential Judeo-Christian works from this period:
The Apocalypse of Abraham
The Sheep and the Goats
The Book of Daniel (Two Versions)
The Olivet Discourse
Revelation (Four Versions)
