"A night of noise in the house again. I couldn't take it anymore. I put the pillow over my ears. And began to hum loudly to try and drown out the noise, but it didn't work. I began to think that if I could just run far, far away, this would make me so happy. After the arguing continued for a while, I just got up, put my clothes on, and walked out of the front door. I could not take it anymore. My siblings were crying, screaming my name and asking me to come back, but I was zoned out. If I had of stayed any longer, I think that my little mind would have just snapped." Patrece A. Dates a native of Sylacauga, Alabama since1969 to 1985. She currently resides in California with her loving husband, three children and granddaughter. She attends a local church and serves as a worship leader and minister in that assembly. She is a lover of God's word and is passionate about reaching the lost for Jesus by sharing her story of how God delivered her from life's pain, shame and rejection.
