OldHatsman is a collection of over 200 short, sharp satires and parodies based on the Author's entries to the New Statesman magazine's weekly writing competition. During the decade in question, out of 300 entries, a stonking 1 in 4 placed and were quite rightly rewarded with a small cash prize. This collection represents the also-rans that were pretty damn good too. Each reflecting topically on current or historical events, people or literature, these have stood the test of time as all good satire should.
