The Secret That Saved Them
Dean Griffiths
This superbly illustrated children's adventure book is based upon the important distinction between wanting and welcoming a child. Experience shows that the story is intriguing to many children of many ages. Children get the point. . They may ask their parents, "Did you want me?" To which parents might answer honestly, "Actually no. We were very poor at the time. But we welcomed you and are very glad we did. And we will keep welcoming you, just as you are." Welcoming a person is better than wanting that person.
