Emmitt's Bottom

Teasing with her chauffeur and preparing for their drive to a Houston Airport, the noted actress could not have imagined what the day held in store. Carissa Lane had no thought she would meet the love of her life, wet and chilled, stranded alongside a highway. The initial impact of noticing the attractive young man walking in the pouring rain was indescribable. Immediately pleading with her driver to offer assistance, she had two wishes: to help the gentleman out of inclement weather, and to confirm if the individual was indeed as handsome as he appeared. Carissa's action would prove to have a profound effect on her life. Caught up in a world of romance unlike any she had ever known, Carissa readily came to love Lance Devins and his family. Living in the quiet seclusion of the wooded countryside that formed southeast Texas, she found a life vastly different from that in Los Angeles. Cherishing what both worlds had to offer, she realized contentment beyond her wildest dreams. Emmitt's Bottom is a saga of an incredible romance involving a young Adonis-like country boy and a heralded, world-renowned actress. Both cherishing a noble white stag, Carissa and Lance must valiantly fight to save its life. Set in the early 1960's, Emmitt's Bottom is an epic drama of devotion, love and compassion. Born in Cuero, Texas in September 1942, Tom Munselle is a newcomer to the world of literary writing. Harboring a love of fiction, as well as a desire to create and mold episodes in a lifelike manner, has long been his passion. At the age of four, he moved with his family to the small town of Colmesneil. Here he grew to maturity in the pine and hardwood-covered hills of southeast Texas. His heritage from growing up in this environment provided him an opportunity to write stories with characters and places of romance and drama. In 2010, two of his adult grandchildren were made aware of written works their grandfather had composed. Having rested several years inside a briefcase within a closet, these writings were gathered and bonded into a single volume. They were then presented to him as a Christmas gift. It proved one of the most endearing gifts Mr. Munselle had ever received. Rekindling his passion for the written word, he immediately began creating two novels. Emmitt's Bottom and the yet-to-be-released Valley of October were born of his grandchildren's inspiration. The works have been more than five years in the making. It is the author's profound hope that readers will appreciate his efforts as much as he has enjoyed writing them.
