Six years after a majority of the world's adult population was annihilated during an event called The Tragedy, eighteen-year-old Addison Summers lives a mostly boring life as a fletcher (making arrows) for her riverside village of 300 survivors in western Tennessee. Addison's village - Sun City - is unusually well-developed by post-apocalyptic standards, especially since it was built from the ground up along the mighty Mississippi River.
