In 1670, the Mendon-to-Medfield road in North Bellingham was already in use. This road later became known as Middle Post Road, and Benjamin Franklin laid out the original mile markers. Such notables as Nathan Hale marched along this route, and Paul Revere used it to deliver the Suffolk Resolves to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia. Through images culled from the archives of the Bellingham Historic Commission and private collections, Bellingham takes a look at the characters and events that have shaped the town since its incorporation in 1719. This volume offers a rare opportunity to view the development of Bellingham from a farming culture to a bustling urban community.
