Ross Summers is one of the most successful young stockbrokers in the city - and like every other man in his position, he's as afraid of being average as he is of failure. After losing a catastrophic amount of money on a crash he couldn't have predicted, he's all the more tempted by the Gold Rush conference in Singapore. Supposedly, this conference will make him rich - but when all the world's rich gather in one place, it's not just other businesspeople that are watching. Luckily, Ross has Leo Hagen - his bodyguard of five years, and a man he slept with at college. Leo is a patient man, which is useful when dealing with Ross's mood swings and caustic nature. That nature is still deeply affected by their college tryst; Ross wanted more, and Leo did not. Over the years, however, the bodyguard has warmed to him, and these days he wants to do much more than protect him. At Gold Rush, however, tensions are high and tempers are flared. The past and the present haunt them both in tandem - and when disaster strikes, it's up to both of them to confront that history they buried long ago.
