He writes it to the Jewish people primarily and so throughout the book you will see Jewish customs mentioned without any explanation as to what they mean because they understood what they meant and needed no details. We see many references to the Old Testament and Matthew constantly refers to Jesus as the Son of David, a name only Jewish people understand. The book is dripping with Jewish leanings
