Bernadette leads a quiet life in Toronto with her family. Her trips to the library are the highlight of her day until her father gets a contract to go to Texas. To ease her mother's heart she decides to go with her father and keep him company while her brother stays to manage the family business. Bernadette's father's new contacts are rich and a bit shady.
