On War, Whimsy, and the Way

Description: This is a collection of thoughts I have had over the past ten years since retirement. They are mostly in poetic form--some rhyme, others don't. I am bringing them to print mainly for my children and grandchildren. As the name of the book implies, they cover my strong objections to war, some miscellaneous whimsical thoughts, and my feelings about God and religion. About the Contributor(s): Joseph Palen was born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1935, has a BS from the University of Missouri, an MS from the University of Illinois, and a PhD from Lehigh University, all in chemical engineering. For forty-seven years he worked for the chemical process industries. He was married twice and has six children and eleven grandchildren. Palen is author of numerous published technical papers and industrial reports. This is his first nontechnical work.
