C is a general purpose programming language. It is closely associated with UNIX and borrows many of its features from B language. It is a procedural language which uses top down approach in program designing. While both C and C++ are case sensitive, latter is an object oriented language which uses bottoms up approach for program designing. C++ was introduced as an extension to C language.
