The new generation has been altered by the same bioweapons that wiped out a vast number of their predecessors, making puberty come with much more than just acne and awkwardness. Alexei Murta is one of the first to experience these changes, and it very quickly turns into a constant struggle to not only survive, but do so while keeping a hold of his humanity as things fall apart both around and within him.
