A girl growing up without family on the big city streets is bound to run into trouble, and Dell found her share of it over the years. Guile and a burning rage were sometimes all that stood between her and destruction. These skills proved inadequate when she fell under the spell of the wrong man who lured into a sordid life of slavery. Realizing she had put body and soul at risk, Dell fled to the South Dakota Heartland, seeking simpler choices. There she found friends, a home, and more trouble. Big trouble, and a not so simple choice-whether to flee again, or to summon all her rage to protect her new life and family.
