Adreannalynn and Meghan, detectives with the local police department, partners, and best friends, are one day away from going on vacation when they hear about a young woman who was found unconscious at the edge of the woods behind a small grocery outlet. As they inquire about the details pertaining to the case, it is all too familiar to Adreannalynn. After meeting two FBI agents, Jamie Karlson and Kasey Lambston, who are in town due to the case regarding the young girl, Adreannalynn is forced to reveal the harsh reality of her past when she starts receiving threats, not just at her home, but also by phone. In doing so, Meghan is forced to face and confess her past as well. Little do they know their pasts bind them in ways they never could have imagined. As they proceed further into the case, Adreannalynn realizes that her past has caught up with her and everyone she cares about is now in danger, including Meghan's brother, Alex, who is back in town from being gone for work related purposes. With the help of her best friend and two new-found friends, she must hurry to figure out who is behind the attacks on young women and the threats to save the people she cares most about, and herself, before it's too late. As they gather files and information, through all the twists and turns in the case, they soon discover someone is helping the person who is attacking women and threatening Adreannalynn, and he may be closer to them than they realize. If catching one perpetrator wasn't enough, they now must figure out who else is involved. The second person is closer than they realize. Not knowing who they can trust only makes it harder to determine who is telling the truth and who isn't. They have no one to rely on but each other.
