Sidra keeps to herself, living in a fantasy world. Her world is turned suddenly around when she is recruited to "save the world." This is exciting to the sixteen-year-old, especially since one of the recruiters is her fantasy man. She does not care about saving the world, to put it mildly. Simon has just retired and wants to curl up in an armchair and be left alone. What can an old man do? This saving-the-world crap is for young people... It seems this ragtag group has no choice; they have been selected, but by whom? Is anyone what they represent themselves to be? Is the world really at war with underworld elements? Or is it all a hoax in which these down-on-their-luck would-be superheroes are unwilling participants?
