WHAT IS A GOOD MAN?In today's culture men have been maligned and made to look like idiots in the media, advertising, film and in television programming. Some rightly so. We have witnessed poor male behavior by the likes of Movie Producer Harvey Weinstein, Broadcasters Matt Laurer and Charlie Rose, and United States Senator Al Franken. Take Heart, there are many good men out there doing the right thing every day that go unnoticed and unrecognized. A good man does not run from adversities, challenges or his problems. He does not run from the problems of the ones he loves. He meets them head on! He embraces them! He steps up! He does not run away from the fire; he runs into the fire. He protects. He loves with abandon. He is not a pushover. Helping and supporting those who are struggling is written into the DNA of every man. Despite the seemingly selfish nature of those you may see around you or as portrayed in the media, we are designed to be sympathetic toward the plight of our fellow humans and to help if we are able. These seeds of valor are in us all-man or woman-but they must be nurtured. They must be developed appropriately before they can be germinated for action.
