Death Valley, where it appears nothing grows, comes vibrantly alive when there is rain. A rare occurrence, indeed. But when it happens, the entire desert floor transforms into a carpet of color. The thing is, life was always there, waiting for the opportunity to burst forth. Like those flowers on the desert floor, the creative spirit lies within us, perhaps in a state of dormancy, but it is there, just the same, waiting to transform our lives. One of the most wonderful aspects of being human is experiencing our creative selves. It is a gift given to each of us and it separates us from all other animals. The ability to imagine things that do not yet exist and bring them into being is profound.
