Three housemates Chloe, Rita and Joan have just celebrated graduating from Sheffield University. Ahead of them lie possibilities and opportunities - with important decisions to be made. What does 'the real world' have in store for them? The answer: working as land girls. The year is 1942 and the Second World War is well underway. Working on a farm in beautiful Lincolnshire, the girls soon have to learn to overcome both the physical and mental challenges they come up against; all the while trying to get to grips with working on a farm for the first time in their lives. With a little help from new friends they meet along the way, the girls discover that in life it's not the circumstances that count, it's the opportunities that you take.
