Intelligence-led policing is a recent but growing doctrine in policing globally. With the growth in the adoption of modern technology across Africa, it is a matter of time before old policing techniques will become obsolete. Therefore, adoption and implementation of Intelligence-led policing is a necessity for any police organisation in the world who want to be more effective and efficient in an era of declining global funding allocation by national governments. Intelligence-led policing is not widely understood or practised by most of the officers of the Nigerian police. Consequently, the Nigeria Police Force have institutionally not implemented this policing system operationally in an effective way. This concise book will explain what Intelligence-led policing is, the challenges facing its adoption in Nigeria and recommendations on how it can be deployed and adopted across the policing estate in Nigeria.
