Digital forensics expert Jack Boyd knows his industry operates by a simple maxim: nothing is ever deleted. That's too bad, because Boyd really wants to delete what FBI agent Dennis Fisk just told him. The foreclosed house next to Boyd and his family has just sold and the Boyds are getting a new neighbor, a man named Carlos Moreno. Trouble is, Moreno works as a hit man for a drug cartel, and the feds want surveillance cameras in the Boyd's trees. From the moment Boyd agrees, his secure suburban existence heads south and the resulting odyssey follows a converging path from Boyd's dark past to Moreno's violent present, from Boyd's beginnings as a digital investigator working for MicroLine Security, back to his youth, when a terrible crime sparked a lifelong obsession with justice and security. To beat Moreno and protect his family, Boyd will need to use all of his forensic skills, even if it means digging into the secrets of his own past.
