Brantley has always had headaches, caused by high stress, that precede his frozen episodes. The medicine he takes gets rid of them but there are side effects. He finally decides he is no longer going to take any more and take control. His parents tell him news that makes him stress. The headaches return but there is a difference. He is not who he thinks he is plus he doesn't have the control he thought. Not being able to handle the news, he goes into the spare room and pulls out some items he hadn't used in years. They express the feelings he cannot. Counseling sessions are imminent. The advice given is useless. He is so bummed he stops hanging with his friends. Sulking gets him nowhere, he reaches out, he needs his friends help but now they are elusive. On a chance, he sees them and discovers they have troubles of their own. They don't want his help but what are friends for? His continual interference gets him in trouble but also gets the attention of them. He has to get inside to find the flaw. An opportunity arises. To win he has to lose and begin again but starting over has its own complications.
