Travels with a Technologist
Josie Jones
Josie was not ready to become a housewife stuck in a steamy kitchen with stinky nappies, instead opting for adventure. She qualified as a State Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist and that was her ticket to travel the world.
In 1964, she set out on an adventure that was to last six years, surviving in areas with extremes of weather, from the freezing cold of snow-covered Newfoundland to the heat of the sun-scorched Australian outback. Working in various hospital laboratories, often as the only qualified person, was always interesting and challenging.
Join Josie on this roller coaster journey as she makes lasting friendships and experiences love, loss and betrayal. From setting out as an inexperienced, naive young woman, Josie becomes a self-assured, mature woman; a citizen of the world.
