The Ascension bankrupted and collapsed the world's governments. When the corporations took over, the populous was divided into two socio-economic segments; the wealthy and powerful and everyone else. Ravenisovich Nicholi Wolfgang the Third, a descendant of the great General J. Christopher Allen (a.k.a. General Zephyr), was spared the watchful eye of the media by his mother through a name change when he was young. No longer burdened as a known descendant of his grandfather, Ravenisovich grew up quietly, choosing to attend university with his best friend Alexander. There he met his future wife and, after graduating, started a researcher's life with Biology and Technology Incorporated. However, unbeknownst to Ravenisovich, a corrupt corporate executive had other plans. After two failed attempts to acquire some of Biology and Technology Incorporated's secret projects, a hit was called against the company and its researchers. After the gruesome murder of his wife and the subsequent mauling, Ravenisovich was rebuilt into a half cybernetic human. Filled with self-loathing, raging anger, and screwed to a psychoactive drug to keep from completely losing his mind, Ravenisovich picks up the street name Ravenwolf and goes on a multi-year vengeance streak, seeking to kill the crime lords responsible. Deciding he needs help, Ravenwolf reaches out and finds Bowser, a mercenary in need of money. Together, guided by an underworld assassin, a barkeep, and his brother-in-law, Ravenwolf tries to survive his new life while dealing with the ghosts of his past.
