As the student population continues to become morediversified, educators are faced with the obstinatetask of finding more ways to close the achievementgap and ensure that all students, regardless ofrace, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, orpreparedness/readiness, meet or exceed educationstandards set by their school, district, state,and federal government. The purpose of this study was to determine if a course in diversity training at the University of SouthCarolina-Columbia would have a transformative affecton educators and other professionals who currentlywork in a variety of educational settings.
