Evaluation of Acid Lime Cultivars for Yield and Quality

The six acid lime cultivars were studied for their vegetative characters, flowering and fruit set, yield components, quality parameters and reaction to canker disease. Among the six cultivars studied the cultivar Vikram recorded the maximum tree height, tree spread, number of primary branches per tree, highest number of flowers per shoot, number of fruits per shoot, fruit set percentage, number of fruits retained per shoot, fruit retention percentage and number of fruits per cluster in both season I and II. Earliest flower initiation and earliest full bloom 50% flowers opening were recorded in cultivar Vikram in both the seasons. Similarly the highest number of fruits per tree, fruits yield per tree, fruit diameter, fruit weight, volume of fruit, juice content, total soluble solids, ascorbic acid, chlorophyll, free proline , epicuticular wax and lowest incidence of citrus canker were in cultivar Vikram season I and II.
