A survey of common edible insects was investigated in Ijebu division. Proximate analysis, vitamins, minerals, shelf life of Rhynchophorus phoenicis (larva) and Macrotermes bellicosus (winged reproductive) was determined. The study also collected information about the people?s knowledge, attitude and perception about edible insects, verified the nutritional values and determined the length of time the insects could still be nutritionally stable for consumption.
