ESBL-producing bacteria has serious effects on human health due to its antibiotics ressisting properties namely ?-lactam antibiotics including Oxyimino-Cephalosporins and Monobactams. An effective approach of controlling ESBL-producers is to study them through careful investigation of genes producing those enzymes. This book provides a detailed data on the spreading of ESBL-producing strains in Iraqi hospitals as well as detection of TEM, SHV, OXA, and CTX-M genes.
