Solar Cooking Technology: Scheffler Cooker an Efficient System Rahul Ramteke

This research effort emphasizes on cooking of turmeric rhizomes by using solar steam generation system. This study will help to farmers, scientists, industrialists and new entrepreneurs engaged in growing and processing of turmeric. The Scheffler cooker is modified for cooking of turmeric. The performance of solar steam cooker was evaluated for two conditions viz. no load condition and full load condition with turmeric. Tests were carried out to know the trend of various operating parameters such as inlet and out let temperature of receiver, inlet and out temperature of receiver, solar insolation, wind velocity and pressure of steam.
