It is an investigation of the non-material production and consumption of Filipino care work films that have become more frequent in Filipino mainstream film industry since 1995 as superstar movies because of the rising number of Filipino care workers all over the world, particularly in the US and Canada, UK and Italy, and Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. It looks into the films' take-off points, tipping points, and contact points through film directors', screenplay writers', print media's, and viewers' production and consumption experiences and meanings. This qualitative research creates an intersection and bridges the gaps between media, cultural, diaspora studies that is yet to be fully explored in academic research.
