PrimeLife (www.primelife.eu) is a European Project born with the challenge to design technology solutions for bringing sustainable privacy and identity management to future networks and services This book shows how is possible to integrate the features needed to support privacy requirements; starting from a standard Access Control Language (XACML) and the related framework. This integration started from research on privacy-compliant requirements, focusing, in particular, on the Access Control technology coupled with the PRIME identity management system. The integration XACML-PRIME permits to apply XACML policies to resources, adapting the XACML standard, which was developed in a different scope, to a different context supporting the privacy requirements fully discussed in the book. The integration between two distinct languages aimed to reduce the impedance mismatch arising when two solutions with different assumptions are put together in a single system.
