Light Detection and Ranging Using Nir (810 Nm) Laser Source

A short pulse of radiation is transmitted into sample such as water, glass and perspex and the transmitted and backscattered radiation are detected and analyzed. During the practical experiments, detection of backscattered light, attenuation coefficients, transmittance, and distance to the backscatter materials with using of a near infrared (NIR) Laser diode source (810 nm) and some other components like detectors are achieved. The objectives include measuring the attenuation coefficients of three kind of transparent materials such as water, fused glass, and perspex and measuring the distance from objects.
