Auguste Comte's philosophy and the thought of David Hume

It is undeniable that Comte was influenced by Hume from his youth, the influence of Comte on Hume is clearly manifested in an 1819 article entitled ?Séparation general between the opinions and désirs? which can be found in the Youth Writings (1819-1828), and we also see that Hume resurfaces at the end of the System of Positive Politics (1851-1854), a text in which Auguste Comte states that he belongs to Hume's school. We have two anthropological philosophies that establish the foundations of a social life and a moral theory rooted in human nature, in uncontrolled desires and instincts, and that demand regulation through the mediation of sociability and time. The question of passions, inclinations and feelings emerges from a classical problematic the one that integrated it within a rationalist subjectivism, which subjected the body to the hold of the soul.
