The objective of our research is to understand the contribution of the GIZ/CIM Migration for Development Program (MDP) in Cameroon, particularly in terms of supporting the return and reintegration of migrants. Our analysis, based on documentary research and field surveys, shows that the GIZ/CIM PMD's contribution to Cameroon is well established in terms of its participation in the financing and placement of returning experts. However, its financial and technical support remains insufficient given its relatively low level of deployment and the insignificant impact of its investments on the reintegration of migrants. In addition, the study presents some exogenous and endogenous constraints that hinder the institution's actions in supporting returnees to Cameroon. Finally, in order to better manage the issue of return, it is necessary to put in place a mechanism to raise awareness and coordinate the actors involved in this field of public action. Migration policy reform and institutional capacity building are also needed to promote co-development.
