A total of 661 donors were rolled up for this study by successive recruitment. ELISA was used as the reference technique. The prevalence of HIV by RDT was 1.21% and 8.2% by ELISA in the donors. The prevalence of HBV by RDT was 11.20% while its prevalence by ELISA was 49.60% in donors. The prevalence of HCV by RDT was 1.97% and 2.00% by ELISA. For the three markers we obtained low sensitivities of 3.51% [95% CI 0.97 to 11.92]; 22.90% [95% CI 18.70 to 27.70]; 30.00% [95% CI 11.00 to 60.00] for HIV, HBV and HCV respectively. Specificities were 99.01% [95% CI 97.85 to 99.54]; 99.70% [95% CI 98.30 to 99.90]; 98.62% [95% CI 97.39 to 99.27] for HIV, HBV and HCV respectively. Overall we had lower positive predictive values being PPV 25% for HIV and HCV and 56.80% for HBV. The negative predictive values were 91.58% for HIV, 98.70% for HBV, 90% for HCV. The airs under the ROC curve were 0.89, 0.73 and 0.92 for HIV, HBV and HCV respectively.
