From the right to life

The right to life is the supreme right of the human being. Its respect is the necessary condition for the exercise of all other rights. It is undoubtedly the foundation of all other rights that are grafted onto it to form a complete and coherent human whole worthy of full enjoyment of human rights. Without life, there is no human being and conversely, without the human being, there is no subject of right, no holder of life and even less rights inherent to the human being, to his physical person. This fundamental right, which is theoretically protected by internal, regional and international instruments, is constantly being violated in one way or another throughout the world by those who have the obligation and competence to ensure its protection and promotion.
