Pierre Michon
It is of little consequence that the events in these short stories take place in Gévaudan and Ireland. All that matters is that the world be filled with countries and languages amidst the chaos, order, prairies, battlefields, and our own names. Michon introduces the reader to wonderful stories in this volume: Winter Myths, The Emperor of the West, The King of the Forest, and Abbots. These tales are full of evocative characters, whose differences play out in exuberant settings. This fabulous French writer lends us his lyrical prose in a rich and imaginative way that exposes power, death, beauty and art.
